A Fairytale Guest in Our Atelier: How the White Rabbit Found His Outfit and a Home

A Fairytale Guest in Our Atelier: How the White Rabbit Found His Outfit and a Home

We don’t dress only human-like dolls. Sometimes, fairytale characters visit our atelier, too. This time, our guest was the White Rabbit from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. And his own story turned out to be rather like a fairy tale—with a happy ending.

An Outfit for a Fairytale Gentleman

The requirements for his outfit were quite specific: a velvet jacket with pockets for his watch, a lace jabot, and decorative appliqués.

Deep navy-blue velvet contrasts beautifully with his white fur, while lace appliqués adorn the collar and sleeves. Together, these details create an outfit worthy of our long-eared guest.

A Fairytale Journey with a Happy Ending

The Rabbit was created by Anna Lef, a professional artist, on commission for a woman in the United States. Sadly, life’s circumstances meant that the original client and the Rabbit never met.

But another admirer of Alice had been following his creation. When she learned that the Rabbit was looking for a family, she was delighted to offer him her home.

An early edition of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland was already waiting in his new home. Now the Rabbit sits beside it, with his own pocket watch, and, most importantly, with someone who welcomed him into her family.

And we’re happy that our atelier could play a small part in his story.
