These black lace-up shoes are made from genuine snakeskin and measure just 4.5 cm in length. Created for a male doll, they bring a distinctive texture to the formal outfit featured in my atelier archive.
A Glimpse of the Workbench
Only two photographs of the work in progress survive, but they offer a little glimpse behind the scenes. The shoes are shown on my workbench alongside the doll’s feet, with temporary packing inside some of them.
These are working photographs rather than carefully arranged displays, a small record of the shoes before their final presentation.
Small Shoes, Distinctive Details
The finished shoes combine the visible snakeskin texture with black laces, shaped soles, and low heels. In the photographs of the complete outfit, they sit beneath the narrow trouser legs, complementing the dark fabric and its side-seam trim. Even at this small size, the footwear has a character of its own.
I enjoy returning to these earlier creations. Sometimes only a few photographs remain, yet they are enough to preserve a glimpse of the work, and the little details that make a miniature outfit complete.
